What is a Discipline?
A discipline is an organized field of knowledge and practice through which a system develops particular capabilities.
Disciplines are the result of how:
- the meaning and intention of WHY;
- the architecture and ways of acting of HOW;
are realized in specific areas of activity.
Disciplines as System Capabilities
Disciplines show which areas of knowledge and practice become possible through the realization of WHY through HOW.
They include:
- a language of description;
- professional knowledge;
- methods of work;
- practices;
- tools;
- connections with other intellectual assets.
